Without further ado, let’s get into it!
What are Slovakian Men Like?
Even though Slovakia is a generally small country, there’s still a big difference among its people.
This is why we can’t generalize and say that they’re all the same, but there are still plenty of characteristics that most Slovakian men have in common.
I examined some of these traits first-hand and made a list that will hopefully help you with getting to know Slovakian guys better.
Slovakian people are Slavs, so typical Slovakian men have some of the usual Slavic features.
However, unlike Russians, they’re not that light-colored.
When you meet Slovakian men, you will notice that most of them have round faces with a more or less prominent chin.
In personal opinion, this is something that looks amazing on Slavic women and is the reason why a lot of people think that they are beautiful, but it has a completely different effect on the faces of Slovakian males.
On the other side, it kind of makes them have a babyface, especially because of the pale rosy complexion, and most of the time they look younger than they actually are.
The color of their hair and eyes can vary, and it can go anywhere from light to dark. However, darker hair and eyes are more common.
American women looking for Slovakian men are probably going to be pleasantly surprised by their height. Like other Slavic people, Slovakian men are pretty tall, with an average height of 5 feet 10.5 inches.
But when it comes to their built it completely varies, there are men of all kinds in Slovakia.
I’m going to be completely honest here and say that Slovakian men just have no taste in fashion whatsoever. And I’m not saying this lightly.
I noticed that they really enjoy wearing items that were in style around 20 to 30 years ago and no, they weren’t making a comeback anytime soon. Hopefully.
Also, most of them wear clothes that just don’t fit them. Why?
There’s nothing sadder than seeing some obviously handsome Slovakian men dressed like they’re lost time travelers.
Calificación adicional: la calificación de deslizamiento de Tinder 1000
On top of the important physical trait ratings for Slovakian men, we have also created our own additional rating from the Slovakian men we see on Tinder. We call it the 1,000 Tinder swipe rating. It is extremely accurate and gives a very good overall picture of the single men and how attractive they are.
Así es como funciona.
We swiped through 1000 different profiles in all of the major cities of Slovakia and took note of how many handsome men there are. We jotted down how many 8’s, 9’s and 10’s there are based on their profile pictures. Here is a quick breakdown.
- 0-100 es pobre
- 100-200 está bien
- 200-300 es bueno
- 300 - 400 es increíble
- 400 + es alucinante (solo hay algunos de estos)
With a Tinder Plus subscription, you can teleport to anywhere in the world and swipe for yourself. Find out more below In the section about how to meet Slovakian men. Also, make sure to check out my other country guides to see how their Tinder scores compare.
Character Traits of Slovakian Men
But alas, as we all know, looks aren’t what’s really important in a relationship.
The true thing that matters is what kind of person your Slovakian boyfriend is.
Is he protective, honest, and loyal? Can he take care of you?
What are Slovakian men like?
Short answer – I’m not that impressed. But there are still some shades to them that are both good and bad. Let’s take a closer look.
1. Calificación de caballero
One of the best attributes that Slovakian guys have is that most of them are very good gentlemen.
Of course, there are still some specimens who don’t act civilized at all, but I think that they’re pretty rare.
However, their idea of being a gentleman is kind of different from the image that you probably have in your head, but it isn’t drastic.
For example, when dating Slovakian men, you might notice how they’ll open doors for you completely differently than Westerners. A Slovakian man opens the door, goes through them first, and then holds them open for the lady.
You can only imagine what that means when it comes to Slovakian men in bed.
Other than that, I think this whole role of a gentleman that they have can be connected to the still clear gender roles in their society.
Typical Slovakian guys know what they want and what their opinions are, but they are quick to argue when they see fit, sometimes even too much.
Well, they’re also quick to cool down, but what is the point if they can’t control their emotions?
They like their family as long as it isn’t too big of a burden, and most of them hate their country and have a negative view on everything.
Also, they’re very stubborn, and most of the time this isn’t good.
When it comes to being honest, Slovakian men have a big disadvantage: they are so quiet.
I mean they’re honest all right, and they’ll tell you anything you want to know, but unlike Americans, they just aren’t very talkative, I guess.
And if you ask me, you can’t call yourself honest if it takes you a month or two to tell me the truth about something.
But still, better than nothing I guess.
I didn’t have the best experience when it comes to loyal Slovakian men, in other words, there were almost none.
Is it because they’re used to being surrounded by absolutely gorgeous Slovakian women, or is it just because they’re awful human beings, I’ll never be sure.
Of course, this is also something that we can’t generalize, so you should know that there are still hot Slovakian guys out there who are also loyal.
5. ¿Qué tan protectores son?
Long story short, dating a Slovakian guy means that you will always have somebody who’ll protect you by your side.
However, while answering the question “What are Slovakian guys like?” I mentioned how they’re quick to anger, and this can turn out to be a bad thing most of the time.
If you get two Slovakian guys against each other, chances of them not fighting it out are close to zero.
6. ¿Tienen recursos?
One of the biggest Slovakian guy stereotypes is that they aren’t financially stable.
This belief is based on the fact that Slovakia was under the rule of communism until about 30 years ago, and emerging from that type of economy is hard for most countries.
However, especially in comparison to others, Slovakia is doing better than okay.
But, there’s still a big difference in the income that for both the richest and the poorest of the country.
So, financially, your man could fit into either of those categories.
The clear gender roles also help the notion that men should do all the heavy work, while the woman should cook and clean, so chances are that you won’t be getting any help from your Slovakian guy.
I would have to say that Slovakian men aren’t mature at all.
First of all, I think that they wouldn’t know how to flirt if their life depended on it.
As opposed to Americans, when you meet Slovakian guys you’re probably going to wonder about their intentions.
They would probably just try to get close to you, maybe say some funny jokes, and hope for the best, which is on the level of a 7th grader.
Their immaturity also shows how small-minded most of them are, especially when it comes to minority rights.
While some of the Slovakian guys I met are full of themselves, most of them are pretty tame.
On the other hand, even the ones that have the ego bigger than their whole country still don’t know how to flirt, and apparently, that’s because Slovakian women tell them “no” most of the time.
All in all, they’re somewhere in the middle. Especially Slovakian guys in bed.
9. ¿Son amigables o reservados?
I think that the Slovakian people, in general, are the least friendly out of all the European nations.
My stay there was filled with cold stares and rude answers.
Not to mention that they basically don’t talk to you except for some “yes” and “no” answers.
However, there are still some great and handsome Slovakian guys and their friends that were very friendly and helpful.
Slovakia received about 5.4 million tourist in the year 2017, this is to tell you that this country is a beautiful country several cultural sites and tourist attraction sites and monuments.
You should also visit and have a swell time with Slovakian men and learn new things.
Pros and Cons of Dating a Slovakian Man
Dating a Slovakian man has both pros and cons, and it’s up to you to decide which one of these outweighs the other.
International dating is so hard for this very reason. But, just because your nationalities and the way that you were brought up are different, doesn’t mean that you aren’t going to get along all together.
So I’m going to let you in on some pros and cons, and after that, I’ll teach you how to meet Slovakian men and also give you some tips for dating a Slovakian man.
1. Beautiful country and a great opportunity for travel
Slovakia might not be the first on the list of countries that most people would want to visit, but it has some of the most majestic scenery that you could imagine.
However, I already mentioned that scenery and the mineral springs, but Slovakia also has one of the best positions – central Europe.
You can take some quick weekend trips to cities like Budapest and Vienna, or go a little bit further to Prague or Krakow anytime you feel like it.
2. Slovakian men are gentlemen
As I mentioned before, Slovakian men can be considered very good gentlemen if we look at the traditional description of the word.
They will open doors for you, albeit a bit differently than you’re used to, they’ll also hold your umbrella, pay the bill, and act respectfully towards you.
It’s just what the Slovakian dating culture is like.
3. They’ll protect you no matter what
Although I mentioned that this can be a bad thing from time to time, it’s nice to know that you have a man by your side who’s willing to fight for you in any meaning of the word.
This is especially good because most Slovakian people are close-minded and don’t have the best opinion on international dating, and they like to voice that opinion from time to time.
1. Cigarettes and alcohol
Unfortunately, most Slovakian men tend to smoke and drink a lot.
However, if you look at the stats you’ll see that at least they drink less than their immediate neighbors, but just because their surroundings are like that doesn’t mean that some of them don’t have a drinking problem.
And don’t get me started on the cigarettes. Do yourself a favor and find a man who won’t stink up all of your clothes with the smoke from his cigarettes every time you go out.
2. Clear gender roles
Gender roles are still pretty prominent in Slovakian society and most single Slovakian men are looking for a girl who’ll become their housewife who cooks and cleans after them.
There are still normal guys out there, but it will probably take you a while to find them.
|"Mejor casamentero"||"Citas discretas"||"Lo mejor para aventuras"|
Even though they’re well-traveled and they’re surrounded by some of the more progressive countries, Slovakian people are extremely close-minded.
Well, at least most of them are.
Be ready to face some issues, especially in less urban areas, if you’re not Caucasian. They also have problems and stereotypes about all kinds of minorities.
How to Meet Slovakian Men
Now that I gave you all of the answers to the question “What are Slovakian guys like in relationships?” it’s time to get to the action and teach you where to meet Slovakian men.
Let’s start with some real-life connections. For example, Bratislava is filled with bars and pubs, and they’re filled with hot Slovakian men.
Now, in theory, you could start there, but as I mentioned before, Slovakian guys don’t know how to flirt, at least in real life.
So if you’re wondering how to meet a Slovakian guy, you’re going to have to turn to a different answer: online dating.
Everybody can be found online and one of the best places where to meet Slovakian guys has to be the website called Partner na urovni.
This dating site boasts more than 13 million users just in Europe, making it one of the most famous websites of this kind.
Needless to say, a big number of users means that it will be easier for you to find the perfect match.
One downside that you will have to take care of when signing up is that the whole website is in Slovakian. But don’t lose hope! The only thing that you need to do is use the translate button built in your browser, and you’re good to go.
Setting up your account is easy, you only need to supply them with info such as your gender, the gender that you’re interested in, your email address and a password, and you’re all set.
There are some steps after those that you can take to make your profile more realistic looking, like filling out your bio or setting up a good photo of yourself on your profile.
Just like most dating websites, this one isn’t free to use if you want to enjoy it completely. But, in my opinion, it’s completely worth it.
Pay for a month of VIP membership to be able to message people freely and you’ll have better chances at finding the love of your life.
Also, don’t be afraid of the language! A lot of Slovakian people know how to speak English.
How to Conquer a Slovakian Man’s Heart
And now that you know all about meeting sexy Slovakian men, it’s time to give you some Slovakian men dating tips.
1. Be patient with him
It’s true what they say: patience really is a virtue. And in this case, it’s also much needed.
If you want your Slovakian man to fall in love with you, you got to show him that you can keep up with his stubbornness.
As I mentioned before, Slovakian men are honest, but they’re also not really great at communicating and they’re stubborn in general.
But these are things that most of us can be, and you need to show your man that you trust him and that you won’t go around nagging him about everything.
Just wait for him to make up his mind and tell you the truth when he’s ready for it.
I promise that he’ll appreciate it.
2. Learn the Slovakian language (at least partially)
I’m going to have to be honest with you, this one isn’t easy at all.
The Slovakian language belongs to the Slavic group, and these are some of the hardest languages to master.
There are a lot of rules and stuff that only make sense to native speakers, but I never said that it’s impossible.
So ask your man to practice his complex and beautiful language with you, and he’s going to know that you’re there for the long run.
Also, it will just be easier for the two of you to communicate and understand each other’s emotions if you both practice both languages.
3. Show respect towards his family
Slovakian people, in general, are usually very close to their families and they love and respect them a lot.
There are still some examples of families that aren’t that close, but chances are you’ll become a part of the first group.
But let’s just say that Slovakian men are the only ones who are allowed to disrespect their families.
They also tend to care about what their family thinks way too much, so you should not only charm him, but the rest of his family too.
You can do this by showing them that you have a nice demeanor and good manners, both things that would be highly respected there.
You can also show them that you know how to cook by bringing some dishes that you made at home, they’re sure to love you for that!
4. Make him food
Just like with his family, you can easily impress a Slovakian guy by making him some good food.
What’s important here is to make him the food that he likes, so be sure to discreetly question him beforehand.
There are some traditional Slovakian dishes that you can try making, but most of them might seem too complicated to get on the first try.
You’ll see that dating Slovakian guys usually means eating a lot of Slovakian food, but he’ll probably also like anything else you want to make.
5. Learn about the culture
Most single Slovakian guys that you meet are going to be patriotic and they care about their culture and history, and they’re probably want to talk to you about it.
This is why you should learn more.
Check out some websites and books that you can find on Slovakian history, origins, and culture, and impress your man by showing him that you care about him and the heritage that he brings along.
Needless to say, he’s going to do the same thing for you!
